How It Helps
The useful question is often not just where the closest restroom is. It is whether source data suggests all-gender access, single occupancy, privacy, opening hours, accessibility context, and whether a stop is worth a detour.
Search nearby restaurants, stores, cafes, gas stations, parks, and public restrooms when you need a bathroom option quickly.
Look for gender-neutral, all-gender, unisex, and single-occupancy cues when the source data includes them.
RestMap surfaces Refuge Restrooms, OpenStreetMap, brand profile, and user-submitted signals with source context.
RestRoom IQ scores help compare restroom quality and reliability context without treating source labels as promises.
Journey IQ can plan stops at the cadence you choose, then compare options along the route.

Source Context
RestMap does not claim every restroom is currently all-gender or single-occupancy. It surfaces supported source signals when available, then separates those signals from thinner coverage so you can judge how much context exists.
Data is sourced from OpenStreetMap, Refuge Restrooms, Open Charge Map, MapKit/Apple Places, RestMap brand profiles, and user-submitted ratings. Previously loaded locations and ratings can remain available without signal.
Refuge Restrooms is a public database focused on restroom access for transgender, intersex, and gender non-conforming people. This finder helps you search for source-labeled options. For the distinctions among gender-neutral, all-gender, unisex, and single-occupancy rooms, read what a gender-neutral restroom is.
| Signal | Source | Status |
|---|---|---|
| All-gender or unisex signal | Refuge Restrooms, OpenStreetMap, or brand profile | Source-backed |
| Quality or reliability context | RestRoom IQ or user-submitted rating | Reported |
| Exact current signage or room setup | No strong source yet | Needs More Data |
Planning Aid
RestMap can help you compare nearby bathroom options, source labels, route stops, and saved places. It cannot promise current signage, occupancy type, room setup, hours, or whether a venue has changed its restroom policy.
